MSNBC has hired Symone Sanders, the former spokeswoman for Vice President Kamala Harris and a former aide to President Biden, to host shows on the cable network and its Peacock streaming service.

Sanders tweeted about the announcement Monday morning, linking to MSNBC’s statement.

“Well I guess I have some news to share this morning. I am excited to join @MSNBC and @TheChoice! I look forward to working with some of the most talented and amazing people in news,” she wrote.

“There is a lot to learn, but I’m ready to get to work!” Sanders, 32, continued.

The network said she would host a Washington, DC-based show on the weekends and appear on Peacock’s “The Choice from MSNBC.”

“Sanders will bring her expertise, spirited rhetoric and sharp political insight to MSNBC’s multi-platform channels. Her program will explore issues at the intersection of politics, culture and race and break down how decisions made in Washington impact electorates, industries, and communities across the country,” MSNBC said in the statement.

“She will also interview law and policy makers, top government officials, scholars and thought leaders,” it said.

Sanders, a native of Nebraska, announced in December that she would be leaving as chief spokeswoman for Harris, which came amid speculation that staffers were departing the White House because of a rift between Harris and Biden.

Before joining the Biden presidential campaign, Sanders worked as press secretary for Sen. Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign.

She also worked as a CNN commentator and wrote a book, “No, You Shut Up: Speaking Truth to Power and Reclaiming America in 2020.”
